UCPB-CIIF Foundation Partners Anew with RMHC’s Bright Minds Read program
On its second year of partnering with the Ronald McDonald House Charities, the UCPB-CIIF Foundation is donating Bright Minds Read (BMR) kits to 103 more public elementary schools nationwide for the academic year 2009-2010. The Foundation raised P1.0 million from employees and board members of the UCPB-CIIF companies last year to buy BMR kits for 92 public schools in 33 coconut-growing provinces under its “UCPB-CIIF: Kabalikat sa Edukasyon” Project. This project supports the League of Corporate Foundations’ participation in the 57-75 movement, which focuses on developing the reading and comprehension skills of public school children towards improved performance in National Achievement Tests. The teachers in the recipient schools have given positive feedback on the BMR kits, saying these are effective tools in getting Grade1 pupils into the habit of reading with improved reading comprehension.UCPB-CIIF Foundation donated 12 Bright Minds Read kits to principals and teachers of public elementary schools in Bohol during the training conducted recently by the Department of Education
