Seeking to hire an individual for a dynamic role supporting the owner of a diversified group of US-based companies active in the Philippines specialty agricultural and forestry sectors. In the role, you will work closely with one of the company owners to assist in overseeing all aspects of the company development.

Presently, the primary focus is on the establishment of plantations of specialty for the extraction of high value essential oils and other natural product ingredients. There are two projects in development, one located in Bicol and the other in Zambales, with likelihood of more to follow in other provinces. These projects are to supply major multinational health and wellness companies, requiring operations to be established with international standards of excellence. Each project has its own management team, and your role will be to assist in overseeing those management teams, assisting in project execution and identifying opportunities to grow. In addition, the company has secondary interests in the establishment of energy crop plantations as well as supporting a number of NGOs and philanthropic causes. In your role, you will support the company owner as required in furthering each of these initiatives.

Principal responsibilities are to support the company owner, and act as his representative in his absence to ensure projects can continue to progress and tasks can be delivered. The role includes, but will not be limited to the following, which will all be undertaken in concert with and under direction from the company owner:

  • Assist with managing communication with project partners and stakeholders;
  • Assist to develop and deliver project execution plans;
  • Assist in developing and implementing operational best practices;
  • Assist to identify and secure new development opportunities;
  • Assist in the selection of project counterparties, including associated due diligence;
  • Assist with overseeing legal, administrative and commercial management of the companies and project entities;
  • Assist with managing any third parties to which financial and accounting functions have been outsourced;
  • Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies;
  • Represent the company at meetings with stakeholders when the company principals are traveling internationally.

This is a flexible, dynamic role working very closely with the company owner on a daily basis. First and foremost, the ability to think critically, work independently and execute on tasks with attention to detail are the essential requirements. Most other skills can be developed with time and experience. A willingness to learn, commitment to the job, and positive attitude are all required. Extensive travel will also be required, periodically.
