GT-Metro Foundation leads the Metrobank Group Go4Health Run

Employees from the Metrobank Group participated in the 2013 Run for the Pasig River.

In line with its healthy lifestyle and environmental advocacy, GT-Metro Foundation (GTMF) led the Metrobank Group in the 2013 Run for Pasig River at the Quezon City Memorial Circle last October 6.

GTMF sponsored 1,000 runners from the Metrobank Group to run for the Quezon City leg of One Run One Philippines, a simultaneous running event in five locations, organized by ABS-CBN Foundation.

“We wanted to use the Run as a venue to promote healthy lifestyle among employees as well as join the whole country in showing concern for the environment,” said GTMF Executive Director Aniceto M. Sobrepeña.

GTMF adopted the healthy lifestyle advocacy as a way to help control and prevent the spread of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), which are the leading causes of deaths in the Philippines.

With its vision to be one of the leading healthcare advocates in the country, GTMF seeks to foster healthy habits in schools and workplaces where those who are most at risk of NCDs are present.

Additionally, GTMF spearheads initiatives within its sphere of influence as a way of protecting the environment and ensuring sustainable development.

The Metrobank Group is one of the financial institutions which actively supported this year’s Run for the Pasig River.
